Sewing my Ti blog tours are back after taking a break to birth a precious baby boy! When Ti of Simply by Ti announced she was back with a Monster tour, I knew immediately what I would sew. It just so happened that I purchased the Quilt as you go monster  class by Wendy Gratz from Craftsy several months ago during a sale. It is perfect for a monster blog tour, don’t you think? Especially since our youngest is 17 and not into Halloween costumes anymore.

Wendy Gratz is an excellent and fun teacher with a great personality! I am thoroughly enjoying the two classes I have of hers. You can be as creative as you like making monsters since there is no right or wrong way. My plan is to make a baby sized quilt with 9 monsters. The others will have to wait for some other time.

Quilting the sashing and the back of a row where you can see the quilting. The seams are pressed open because of the thickness of the batting.

This quilt took a lot longer than I thought with all the decisions – colors, monster details, fabric choices, and making sure it all looked balanced. I bought fat quarters similar to this from JoAnn’s The background and sashing were found in my stash with the sashing also from JoAnn’s. It was a similar fabric roll to this one. My little quilt didn’t get the backing or binding yet because I have to leave town; but at least the top is done for the Monster blog tour!

I’m excited about my little monsters and don’t know if I will be able to part with this quilt. Good thing it wasn’t sewn for anyone in particular!
